Man rushed to hospital with serious injuries after being hit by car in Paisley

A man has been seriously injured after being hit by a car in Paisley.

The 54-year-old pedestrian was struck by a grey Fiat Punto on Inchinnan Road on Friday night at around 9.15pm.

As a result of the incident the man was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment to serious injuries.

Officers from Police Scotland carrying out an investigation into the crash closed the road until 6am on Saturday morning.

Sergeant Nicola Taylor, of Glasgow's Road Policing Unit, said: "Our enquiries into the crash are ongoing and at an early stage.

"I would urge anyone who may have witnessed the crash but has not yet spoken to police to come forward.

"I am particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have dash cam footage which may help with our enquiries."

"Anyone with information should contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting reference number 4171 of 25 October."
