A man was rushed to hospital with 'serious injuries' following a crash in Leigh.
Emergency services were called to Coronation Drive, in the Higher Folds area of the town, at about 10pm on Friday.
They discovered a man, in his 50s, had been injured after being hit by a car.
He was taken to Royal Albert Edward Infirmary, in Wigan, where he received treatment for his injuries.
Following the incident, eyewitnesses spotted a number of police vehicles and ambulances on the residential street.
A spokesperson for North West Ambulance Service said: "We were called to Coronation Drive, in Leigh, at about 10pm on Friday to reports of a crash involving a car and a pedestrian.
"We attended with a rapid response vehicle, an ambulance and an advanced paramedic.
"We took one patient, a male in his 50s, to Royal Albert Edward Infirmary with serious injuries."
Greater Manchester Police have been contacted for further information about the incident.
