Man rushed to hospital with 'serious injuries' after attack in Scots car park

A man was rushed to hospital with "serious injuries" after an assault in a car park in Fife this morning.

Emergency services raced to Shetland Place and Orkney Place in Kirkcaldy following the disturbance which happened shortly after 3am on Saturday, August 7.

Ambulance crews attended and a 45-year-old man was taken to the Royal Infirmary in Edinburgh for treatment.

Police have taped off an area at the flats (Fife Jammer Locations)

His injuries are serious but not believed to be life-threatening.

On Saturday morning police were pictured at the scene of the assault.

At least two vehicles are in attendance and an area at the flats nearby has been sealed off.

Following the incident police have launched a probe and they are appealing for information.

Detective Inspector Karen Muirhead said: “Our enquiries into the is incident are ongoing and we would urge anyone with information to come forward.

“We know a number of people were gathered in the area at the time so anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious is asked to get in touch.

“Anyone with information can call 101, quoting incident 0572 of August 7, or call Crimestoppers on anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
