A man has been rushed to hospital with serious injuries after an assault in Edinburgh .
Police have launched a probe following the incident in The Meadows area at around 11.15pm on Saturday night.
Emergency services rushed a 37-year-old man to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary with serious but not life threatening injuries.
Officers remain at the scene as seek more information on the ‘serious assault’.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Anyone who was in the area about that time and may have witnessed anything is asked to contact police on 101, quoting incident number 3961 of January 11."
