Man rushed to hospital with serious head injuries following Govanhill 'disturbance'

A man was rushed to hospital with serious head injuries after a 'disturbance' in Govanhill, in the south side of Glasgow.

Emergency services arrived at the scene on Inglefield Street at around 9.45pm last night, and the man, 36, was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

Police have now launched an investigation and a 36-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

A Police Scotland spokesperson told Glasgow Live: "Police were called a report of a disturbance on Inglefield Street, Govanhill at around 9.45pm on August 2.

"A 36-year-old man received serious head injuries as a result and was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.

"Enquires are continuing and a 36-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident and is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday August 5."
