Man rushed to hospital with serious face injuries after assault on Scots street

A man was rushed to hospital with serious facial injuries after a brutal assault on a Scots street.

Cops are probing the serious assault on the 23-year-old in Murroch Avenue, Dumbarton between 9am and 9.20am on Tuesday May 25.

He suffered the horror injuries and was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley.

Police say he was treated for facial lacerations by medics.

Detective Sergeant Bruce Fyfe urged anyone with information to contact officers.

He said: “This serious assault was not reported to police at the time, so we are now carrying out a number of enquiries to establish as much detail as possible to progress our investigation.

“I would ask any witnesses or anyone with information to contact us.

"I would also ask any drivers in that area who have dash-cam footage to get in touch.”

Any witnesses, or anyone with information should contact Clydebank Police Station through 101 quoting reference number 1726 of 25 May.

Alternatively Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.
