A man was rushed to hospital late last night after he sustained head injuries in a late night assault in Artane.
The incident happened at an apartment complex on the Kilmore Road at around 11:50pm, Dublin Live reports.
The victim, who is in his 50s, was taken to Beaumont Hospital where his condition is described as non-life threatening.
A man in his 30s has been arrested and the scene is currently preserved for technical examination.
Gardai have appealed for witnesses to contact them.
A garda spokesman said: "The man in his 30s was arrested at the scene and is currently detained at Coolock Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
"Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses who may have information to contact them in Coolcok on 01 666 4200 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111."
