Man rushed to hospital with head injuries after fight in Ashington

A man has been taken to hospital after a fight in Ashington on Wednesday morning.

Just before 10am, police rushed to the scene on South View where a man had suffered injuries to his head and ankle after being assaulted by another man. The suspected culprit had already fled the scene.

The injured man was taken to hospital and enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances around the incident. At present, there is not believed to be a wider risk to the public.

Police received a report of a fight on South View, Ashington on Wednesday, March 16. At around 9.50am officers attended the scene where a man had sustained issues to his head and ankle after being assaulted by another man - who had already fled the scene.

The injured man was taken to hospital and enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances around the incident. There is not believed to be a wider risk to the public.
