Man rushed to hospital with head injuries after attack in Wishaw

Cops have launched a probe after a man was seriously assaulted in Wishaw last night.

The 36-year-old victim was taken to Wishaw General Hospital with head injuries after being set upon by another two men.

Police are appealing for information on the incident yesterday around 5.50pm in the North Lanarkshire town's Bridge Street.

He was walking along the street when he was approached by two men who started an argument then attacked him.

A statement issued by Lanarkshire police division read: "The suspects are described as in their 20’s and of medium build. One of them had dark shaven hair.

"The incident is being treated as a serious assault and anyone who either witnessed the assault or who has any other information that could assist police enquiries should contact Wishaw CID via 101 quoting incident number 2985 of 16 April 2020."
