A man was rushed to hospital after being assaulted on Wishaw Main Street.
Police were called to reports of the incident at around 9.45pm last night.
The 34-year-old man was taken to Wishaw General Hospital where he was treated for injuries to his head and hand.
He has since been released.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We were called to reports of an assault on Wishaw Main Street at around 9.45pm on December 20.
"A 34-year-old man was conveyed to Wishaw General Hospital. He was treated for his injuries and has since been released.
"Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances."
