Man rushed to hospital with critical injuries following early morning disturbance near primary school

A man has been rushed to hospital with "critical injuries" following a disturbance in the early hours of this morning in near a school in Whitburn.

Officers were called out at around 4.10am to Raeburn Crescent, close to Croftmalloch Primary, following a report of a disturbance.

The 36-year-old victim is being treated in hospital for critical injuries and a 28-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.

Detective Inspector John Murphy, from Livingston CID, said: “A 36-year-old man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries and his condition is described as being critical. A 28-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and enquiries are ongoing.

“Officers remain in the area at this time we’d like to reassure the community that this is believed to have been an isolated incident, with no risk to the wider public.”
