Man rushed to hospital following three-vehicle crash on major Scots road

A man has been rushed to hospital following a three-vehicle road crash on a major Scots road.

Emergency services raced to the A82 near Fort Augustus, near Loch Ness, at around 4pm on Tuesday, July 12. Both the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) and Scottish Ambulance Service (SAS) attended the scene.

One man was rushed to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness by ambulance. His condition is currently unknown.

Another man, the driver of one of the vehicles, will be reported to to the Procurator Fiscal in connection with a road traffic offence.

The road was closed in both directions following the collision and was re-opened at around 8.50pm that evening.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 4pm on Tuesday, 12 July, 2022, police were called to a three vehicle road crash on the A82 near Fort Augustus. One man was taken by ambulance to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness.

“The road was closed in both directions and re-opened around 8.50pm. One man, the driver of one of the vehicles, will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal in connection with a road traffic offence.”
