Man rushed to hospital following serious crash on the A90

A man has been rushed to hospital after a serious crash on the A90.

Emergency services raced to the scene around 7.40am after reports of a one-car crash on the A90 southbound road, north of Balmeddie.

A man has been taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary and the extent of his injuries are not known.

P olice are currently on the scene as the road remains closed.

Drivers are being urged to take an alternative route if possible.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 7:40am, on Tuesday 26 January 2021, police received a report of a serious road crash involving one vehicle on the A90 southbound road, north of Balmeddie.

"Emergency services attended and one man has been taken to the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

"The road is currently closed near the Newburgh junction and enquiries are ongoing."
