Police confirmed one man has been rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

The extent of his injuries are not yet know.

A photograph of the scene shows a police cordon around Blairdardie Convenience Store and the Sky Dragon takeaway with cops standing guard outside.

It is understood Cloan Avenue has also been taped off by officers but it is not clear if this is related to the incident.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 6.20pm this evening police received a report of a man being assaulted on Blairdardie Road, Drumchapel.

"Emergency services attended and one man has been taken to hospital for treatment.

"Police remain on the scene and enquiries are ongoing."
