Man rushed to hospital as firefighters free woman from car following crash in Oldham

A man was taken to hospital and a woman had to be cut free from a car following a crash in Oldham.

Firefighters used specialist equipment to free a woman from a vehicles following the incident on Park Road, in Glodwick, on Saturday afternoon (August 29).

Meanwhile, a man was helped by medics from North West Ambulance Service.

Two cars were involved in the collision, Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said.

Pictures taken on Park Road on Saturday (August 28) show firefighters working at the scene at around 4.30pm.

A cordon was in place across the road for several hours.

Several police cars, two fire engines and an ambulance were all in attendance.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: "At approximately 4.30pm firefighters were called to reports of a road traffic collision on Park Road in Oldham.

"Fire engines from Oldham and Hollins Stations alongside the Technical response unit from Ashton quickly attended the scene.

"The collision involves two cars.

"Firefighters are used specialist equipment to extract one woman from one of the vehicles a man has also been transferred to the care of colleagues from NWAS."
