Man rushed to hospital as blood-splattered windows seen at Edinburgh property

A man has been rushed to hospital after blood was seen splattered over a window at a property in Edinburgh.

Police locked down Hope Park Terrace in the capital following reports of a disturbance at around 1.05pm on Sunday, December 19.

A 29-year-old man has being taken to hospital for treatment to his serious injuries.

Harrowing images taken from the scene show a property on the street with blood splattered over the windows.

Several officers can be seen at the scene with the road sealed off by cops.

Meanwhile, men in high-vis jackets can be seen power washing the pavement and sweeping up an area outside the property.

Passers-by reported an individual was seen hanging out of the window "covered in blood and shouting at police".

Officers say their enquiries are ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers were called to a report of a disturbance at a property on Hope Park Terrace in Edinburgh around 1.05pm on Sunday, 19 December, 2021.

"A 29-year-old man is being conveyed to hospital with serious injuries.

"Enquiries into the incident are ongoing."
