Man rushed to hospital after violent attack in Shotts street

A man has been rushed to hospital following a violent attack in Shotts.

Police were called to a property in Vennacher Street on Tuesday morning following the attack.

One man was taken to hospital with what police are describing as “serious but non-life threatening injuries”.

Officers have confirmed a man, aged 23, has been arrested but that enquiries are continuing into the incident.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 10.30am on Tuesday, January 19, we received a report of a serious assault on Vennacher Street in Shotts.

“A 27-year-old man was taken to Wishaw General Hospital with serious, non-life threatening injuries.

“Officers have arrested a 23-year-old man in connection with the incident. Enquiries are ongoing.”
