Man rushed to hospital after vicious gang assault in Limerick

A man was rushed to hospital after a brutal assault which is believed to have involved a number of men.

Gardai are investigating the vicious attack which happened in the The Square, Abbeyfeale, Co Limerick, overnight.

The victim, a man aged in his 20s, was brought to University Hospital Kerry with serious injuries.

An investigation is now underway, with gardai appealing for any witnesses to get in touch.

No arrests have been made.

A garda spokesman said: "Gardaí are investigating an assault that occurred in The Square, Abbeyfeale, shortly after 1pm this morning, Saturday 4 September 2021.

"A man in his 20s was taken to University Hospital Kerry to be treated for his injuries.

"No arrests have been made, investigations are ongoing."
