Man rushed to hospital after two-vehicle smash near Golden Acre Park, Leeds

A man was taken to hospital following a serious crash on a Leeds road this afternoon.

A red pick up truck and a grey van collided on Arthington Road, near Golden Acre Park, shortly before 3pm.

One man was injured and taken to hospital for treatment.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: "Police were called to Arthington Road at 2.54pm this afternoon to a collision involving two vehicles.

"One man was taken to hospital for further treatment. Part of Arthington Road was closed at the junction of Kings Road."

The police cordon blocked traffic in both directions between King Lane and Kings Road.

The road was not reopened until shortly after 7pm.
