A man has been rushed to hospital after he was stabbed a number of times in a park this evening.
The man, who is in his 40s, was raced to St James's Hospital with injuries that are described as "serious" following the incident in Ballyfermot, Dublin.
He managed to make his way to a nearby off licence where staff raised the alarm.
Gardai are currently at the scene outside the off licence.
A garda spokeswoman said: "Gardai are at the scene of an incident outside an off licence in Ballyfermot this evening Friday the 5th of April 2019.
"A man (40s) was stabbed a number of times in a park in Ballyfermot, he made his way to an off licence for assistance.
"He was brought to St James Street Hospital by ambulance with serious injuries.
"Investigations are ongoing."
