Man rushed to hospital after 'stabbing' in Belfast city centre

A man has been rushed to hospital after an incident in Belfast city centre.

It is believed to have happened outside the Europa bus station on Great Victoria Street.

Police, ambulance services and the Air Ambulance were also tasked to the scene. The Air Ambulance landed on Wellwood Street, Belfast Live reports.

The extent of his injuries are not yet known.

A PSNI spokesman said: "Police are currently at the scene of an incident in Great Victoria Street in Belfast city centre this evening, Tuesday 13 August.

"At around 6.15pm police received a report of a male in the area with what is believed to be a stab wound.  The man has been taken to hospital for treatment.

"Police are working to establish the circumstances of the incident and how the man sustained his injuries."
