Man rushed to hospital after serious assault in East Renfrewshire

A man was seriously injured in an overnight attack in East Renfrewshire.

The 53-year-old was assaulted in Bute Gardens in Netherlee at around 1.35am on Thursday.

He was rushed to Glasgow's Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

Medics describe his condition as stable.

Police are now probing the incident and appealing for information.

A spokeswoman from Police Scotland told the Record: "Police enquiries ongoing into a serious assault on a 53 year-old man in Bute Gardens, Clarkston, Glasgow around 1.35am on Thursday, June 25. 

"He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he is being treated for his injuries. 

"Hospital staff describe his condition as stable."
