Man rushed to hospital after savage knife attack on Scots street as cops launch manhunt

A man was rushed to hospital following a savage knife attack at a house in Glasgow on Tuesday morning.

Cops are appealing for information following the incident around 10.25am in the Newlands Road area.

A 50-year-old man was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital after he sustained serious facial injuries.

His condition is described as stable.

A man was seen near the property at the time and is described as being white, around 5ft 8ins and in his early twenties.

He had dark hair and spoke with a local accent.

A dark coloured car was seen in the area and was parked at the location before fleeing in the direction of Clarkston Road.

Detective Sergeant Nicol McPherson said: “The man suffered serious injuries and it is important that we speak to the man seen near the property around the time of the assault who we believe can help with our enquiries.

“If anyone has dash-cam footage or private CCTV that can help our investigation or saw anything suspicious, I would urge them to get in touch with us on 101, quoting incident 0820 of Tuesday, 16 March, 2021, or make a call anonymously to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
