Man rushed to hospital after Rutherglen assault as police launch investigation

A man was rushed to hospital after being assaulted in Rutherglen on Monday night.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident which led to the 31-year-old being taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

Emergency services raced to the scene near Mill Court shortly after 7pm.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 7.10pm on Monday September 30, 2019, police were called to a report of a 31-year-old man assaulted outside Mill Court in Rutherglen.

"Officers attended and the injured man was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

"Anyone with information that may assist the ongoing investigation should contact detectives at Cambuslang through 101 quoting reference number 3646 of September 30."
