Man rushed to hospital after running in front of moving cars

A man has been taken to hospital after running in front of moving traffic in Liverpool.

Police were called to reports of concerns for the safety of a man on Conwyn Drive, at around 8am this morning, Thursday, March 24. They later confirmed a man, in his 30s, was spotted on Sheil Road, Kensington, running in front of moving cars. The man had several injuries but it's not yet clear how he got the injuries.

Officers put road closures in place while they dealt with the incident, between Sheil Road and Holt Road, on Prescot Road. Up to five police cars and one ambulance crew were at the scene. North West Ambulance service took him to hospital for treatment.

A spokesperson for Merseyside police said: "At around 8am this morning (Thursday 24 March) officers were called to a report of concern for safety of a man on Conwy Drive in Liverpool. A man in his 30s was spotted a short time later on Shiel Road in Kensington running in front of moving vehicles on the road with several injuries.

"He was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries. Road closures are in place in Kensington between Sheil Road and Holt Road whilst emergency services are at the scene. We would ask that people avoid the area where possible. Thanks for your patience."
