Man rushed to hospital after attempted robbery on Bristol to Bath cycle path

A man has been rushed to hospital with leg injuries after an attempted robbery on the Bristol to Bath cycle path.

Police were called to the attack just off Forest Road, in Fishponds, at about 7.15pm this evening (Wednesday).

A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police confirmed a man – reported to be the victim of an attempted robbery – suffered a leg injury.

The force spokesman said: "He has been taken to hospital but his injuries are not reported to be life threatening or life changing.

"Two suspects who left the scene are currently being sought.

"Anyone who was in the area at the time who may have information is asked to contact us quoting reference 5219291413."

UPDATE: Police have confirmed a knife was found close to where the incident took place.

A witness contacted Bristol Live and said they saw multiple police cars in the area.
