Man rushed to hospital after reports of early morning 'stabbing'

A man has been rushed to hospital after being 'stabbed' in Grangemouth.

Cops and paramedics were called to Avonbank Avenue behind the town's Charlotte Dundas Court shopping area at around 7am this morning, Sunday January, 9.

They arrived to find a 22-year-old man injured within a house. He is understood to have suffered stab wounds.

He was treated at the scene before being taken to the nearby Forth Valley Royal Hospital to be assessed further by medics.

His condition isn't known at this time and officers have now started an investigation into the incident.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We were called around 7am on Sunday, 9 January, to a report of a man found injured within a property in Avonbank Avenue, Grangemouth.

"The 22-year-old was taken to Forth Valley Royal Hospital in Larbert for treatment.

"Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances."
