A man was rushed to hospital after a police incident involving a stun gun in Fife this morning.
Earlier we told how officers and ambulance crews scrambled to Taylor Street in Methil as part of a major response at around 10am.
Footage from the scene showed three police vans with sirens on and several officers in attendance.
An ambulance was also captured sitting outside a property on the road.
Police Scotland have now confirmed that they were responding in relation to a concern for a member of the public.
As a result a man was taken to hospital for treatment.
Officers used a stun gun during the response and the circumstances will now be referred to the Police Investigations and Review Commissioner.
Police said this was an isolated incident and insist there are no concerns for the safety and wellbeing of the local community
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "About 10am this morning officers attended an address in Taylor Street, Methil in relation to a concern for a member of the public.
"As a result of this incident a man was taken to hospital for assessment.
"A [stun gun] was used during the response to this incident and, as is standard procedure, the circumstances will be referred to the Police Investigations and Review Commissioner (PIRC).
"There are no concerns for the safety and wellbeing of the local community as this appears to have been an isolated incident."
