Man rushed to hospital after multi-vehicle crash in Clonmel, Co Tipperary

A man has been rushed to hospital this morning after the car he was driving collided with a van and truck in Co Tipperary.

Emergency services were alerted to the crash on the Cahir road, N24, at 7am.

The man was transported to hospital while the occupants of both the truck and the van escaped any injuries.

Tipperary Fire Brigade cleared the road along with gardai and it is now open to traffic with no major delays.

What to do in an emergency situation

A garda spokesperson said: "Gardaí in Clonmel are investigating a three-vehicle road traffic collision which occurred on the Cahir Road (N24) in Clonmel, Co. Tipperary this morning at approximately 7am. A car travelling on this route collided with a van and a rigid truck.

"Emergency services also attended the scene and the driver of the car was taken to hospital – the status of his injuries are unknown at this time. No other casualties have been reported.

"The scene of the collision has been cleared and is open to traffic. Investigations ongoing."
