Man rushed to hospital after 'huge brawl' erupts outside Glasgow mosque

A man has been rushed to hospital after a large scale disturbance outside a mosque in Glasgow.

Emergency services were called to the incident outside Masjid-E-Khazra mosque on Butterbiggins Road at around 1.15pm on Friday afternoon.

Eyewitnesses at the scene say that a funeral had been taking place shortly before a large police presence swooped into the area.

Another has alleged that one man was stabbed after a brawl broke out on the Glasgow street.

One man was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital after the incident. His condition remains unclear.

Police have set up a large cordon around the area while enquiries are ongoing into the circumstances that led to the incident.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We were called to Butterbiggins Road, Glasgow, at around 1.15pm after a large scale disturbance.

"An ambulance was also called to the area and a man has been taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

"Enquiries into the incident are ongoing and the area has been cordoned off by officers."
