Man rushed to hospital after horror crash between car and motorbike in Crumlin

A man was rushed to hospital after a horror crash between a car and a motorbike in south Dublin.

The shocking collision took place on the Crumlin Road near the Grand Canal last night just before 8pm.

Gardai and emergency services rushed to the scene where the driver of the motorbike, a man in his 40s, was treated for his injuries.

He was then rushed to nearby St James' Hospital for further treatment.

The road remained closed off last night while Gardai carried out a technical examination, but it has since reopened.

Gardai told Dublin Live: "Gardai and emergency services attended the scene of a road traffic collision on the Crumlin Road in Dublin on Saturday evening, 24th July 2021.

"The collision involved a car and a motorcycle occurred at approximately 7.50pm.

"The driver of the motorcycle, a man in his 40s, was taken to St James' Hospital to receive treatment for his injuries.

"A technical examination has since taken place.

"Investigations are ongoing."
