Man rushed to hospital after horror assault on Scots road as police launch probe

Police have launched a probe after a horror assault in West Lothian.

A man was rushed to hospital after the attack, which happened on East Main Street in Armadale at around 8.15am yesterday morning.

Officers attended and traced the injured man.

Ambulance crews scrambled to the scene and the casualty was taken to St John's Hospital in Livingston for treatment.

Police say their investigation into the incident is ongoing, however they insist they are following a "definite" line of enquiry.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 8.15am on Friday, 19 March, officers were called to a report of a man assaulted in East Main Street, Armadale.

"Officers attended and traced the injured man.

"He was taken by Ambulance to St John's Hospital in Livingston.

"Enquiries ongoing and officers are following a definite line of enquiry."
