Man rushed to hospital after horror assault on Scots road as cops launch probe

A man was rushed to hospital following a horror assault in Renfrew last night.

Emergency services raced to Ferguson Street after the attack happened at around 5.45pm on Saturday, June 5.

Ambulance crews attended and the casualty was taken to Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley for treatment.

He has since been released.

Police say their enquiries into the incident are ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 5.45pm on Saturday, 5 June, officers were called to a report of a man assaulted in Ferguson Street, Renfrew.

"Officers attended and he was taken to Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley where he was treated then released.

"Police enquiries are ongoing."
