Man rushed to hospital after found lying injured on Castlemilk street

A man found injured in Glasgow has sparked a major police investigation.

Officers were called to Croftfood Road, in the Castlemilk area of the city at around 7.20am on Saturday after reports of a man lying on the road.

The 53-year-old was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow where he is receiving treatment for his injuries.

Police say enquiries are ongoing in a bid to establish how the man was injured.

Anyone with information is urged to come forward.

A Police Scotland spokesperson told the Record: "

"Police in Glasgow are appealing for witnesses after a man was found injured in the Castlemilk area.

"At around 7.20am on Saturday, September 12 officers received reports of a man lying in Croftfoot Road.


"The 53-year-old was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he is receiving treatment for his injuries.

"Enquiries are continuing to establish how the man came about his injuries and anyone with any information is asked to contact 101 quoting incident number 0893 of September 12."
