A man was rushed to hospital after a fight broke out between men in the street.

The man was caught up in a fight that broke out between a group of men on Dale Street in Liverpool city centre at around 6.50pm on Monday, December 6.

Emergency services rushed to the scene and the man was taken to hospital by the North West Ambulance Service with injuries.

The man's injuries are not believed to be serious.

Merseyside Police detained three men following the assault and have sealed off a section of the pavement on Dale Street and part of Stanley Street.

A takeaway worker on Dale Street said: “I started for work and went to go to the shop about an hour ago (7.30pm) and saw police everywhere on the street. There was also an ambulance. It happened very quickly.

“They put tape up and nobody is allowed on the path."

The owner of a corner shop near the cordon said: “I was just in the shop and people started coming in to ask what was going on.“

When the owner heard there had been reports of a fight he said he was ‘shocked’ and said it was 'not normal' for the area.

He added: “Considering the shop is in Liverpool city centre it’s quiet. Not quiet to people, quiet of things like this.

“It’s a great place to be in.”
