Man rushed to hospital after falling from building

A man was taken to hospital with serious injuries after he fell from a building on the edge of the city centre.

The emergency services were called out to Falkner Square, off Grove Street, at around 9.30am today ( Saturday) following reports that a man had fallen from a building.

He has been taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Road closures are in place as police deal with the scene.

Scientific support officers were on nearby Grove Street this morning.

A police spokesman said to the ECHO : "We can confirm that emergency services are in Toxteth after a man was found injured this morning, Saturday 17 April.

"At around 9.30am, officers and the ambulance service were called to Falkner Square to reports of a man in his 40s having fallen from a building.

"He has been taken to hospital with serious injuries.

"A road closure will be in place as we deal with the incident. Please take an alternative route and thanks for your patience."
