Man rushed to hospital after cement truck enters river in Kanturk, Co Cork

A man has been rushed to Cork University Hospital after the cement truck he was driving went off the road and entered the river in Kanturk.

It's understood that the incident occurred just after 9am when the truck struck the bridge and fell into the river on O'Brien St.

And Gardai say O'Brien Street will remain closed into the afternoon following an incident on the bridge earlier where a truck struck the bridge & went into the river

Emergency services responding quickly, retrieving the man from the truck before he was taken to CUH.

It's reported by Cork Beo that the man is in a serious yet stable condition in hospital.
