Man rushed to hospital after car flips onto its roof in crash

A man is in hospital after the vehicle he was travelling in left the road, hit a telegraph pole and ended up on its roof.

The 20-year-old male passenger was in the vehicle travelling south towards Auchinleck in Ayrshire on the B705 when the crash happened at around 4.20pm on Monday.

He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow , where he is currently being treated.

A 24-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the incident and later released.

Police are appealing for information about the incident.

Sergeant Ian Thornton, of Ayrshire Road Policing , said: "Our inquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the crash.

"I am appealing to anyone who was in the area around the time of the crash to contact us.

"In particular, if you have a dashcam, please check your footage as it could have captured footage which could assist us in our investigation."

Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 2605 of 30 December.
