Man rushed to hospital after broad daylight shooting in Merton

One witness reported hearing around “five shots and screams” coming from the busy junction between Central Road and Abbotsbury Road at 2pm on Tuesday.

A man has been rushed to hospital after being shot in broad daylight in Merton.

One witness reported hearing around “five shots and screams” coming from the busy junction between Central Road and Abbotsbury Road at 2pm on Tuesday.

A man was found by police at the location suffering gunshot injuries. He has been taken to hospital in a serious condition.

Police said two people have been arrested in connection with the shooting.

Road blocks are in place with police urging the public to avoid the area.
