Man rushed to hospital after brawl at Glasgow pub as police launch probe

A man has been rushed to hospital after a fight outstide a Glasgow pub.

Cops erected a cordon in the car park of the Jenny Burn pub, opposite Shawfield Stadium, after being called to the scene shortly after 4.30pm today. They have since confirmed that a man was taken to hospital following an outburst of violence outside the bar.

No further details of the nature of the assault were immediately available. Cops say their enquiries into the attack remain ongoing and no arrests have yet been made.

Locals reported that the gastropub - part of the Marstons chain - was closed as a result of the police investigation, since confirmed by the bar via social media.

The pub - in the Clyde Gateway area of Glasgow, north of Rutherglen - said on Facebook that it was closed for the rest of Monday due to "unforeseen circumstances".

The Record has contacted Marstons for further comment.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 4.35pm on Monday, 11 July, 2022, police were called to the Clyde Gateway in Glasgow, following a report of a serious assault. One man was taken to hospital for treatment and enquiries are ongoing.”
