Man rushed to hospital after being viciously 'slashed' in Scots seaside bar

A man has been arrested and charged after another man was slashed with a knife at a pub in South Ayrshire.

Police raced to The Harbour Bar in Troon at around 8.45pm on Thursday.

The 35-year-old victim was rushed to Ayr Hospital with slash wounds.

Medics later released the man after treatment.

A 29-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

He is due to appear at Ayr Sheriff Court on Friday.

A full report will be sent to the Procurator fiscal.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman told the Record: "A 29 year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with a serious assault on a 35 year-old man within a bar on Templehill, Troon that took place around 8.45pm on Thursday, August 13.

"The injured man was taken to Ayr Hospital where he was treated for a laceration then later released.

"The 29 year-old man is due before Ayr Sheriff Court on Friday, 14 August.  A full report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal."
