Man rushed to hospital after being traced by police near Musselburgh sea front

A man has been rushed to hospital after being traced by police near the sea front in Musselburgh.

Officers were called to attend following reports of concern for a man near the river mouth shortly before 6.30am Friday morning.

Police attended and the person was traced before being rushed to hospital. He remains in the care of medics receiving treatment.

There are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances.

A number of people reported seeing a heavy police presence in the area this morning.

And a spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "We can confirm that officers were called around 6.25am on Friday 17 April following concern for a man near the river mouth in Musselburgh.

"He was traced and conveyed to hospital, where he remains in the care of medical professionals."
