Rail services on the Motherwell line have returned to normal this morning after a man was hit by train.
The incident happened just before 9pm on Friday night, with emergency services moving to shut down the station at the time.
Services to and from Motherwell were severely disrupted as police and ambulance crews managed the situation.
ScotRail Tweeted: “We’ve received reports of an ongoing incident in the Motherwell area.
“We’re working closely with the emergency services at this time...services via Motherwell are being delayed or altered as a result.”
But they later added that services had resumed as normal following the incident.
The rail provider added: “The emergency services have now handed the line back to us and services can resume.”
Police confirmed a man had been taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Glasgow for treatment after being struck by the train.
No further update on the man’s condition is yet available.
ScotRail services on the Motherwell line today are “good”.
