Man rushed to hospital after being struck by car in Glasgow city centre

A man was rushed to hospital after being struck by a car in Glasgow city centre last night.

Police and paramedics raced to the scene on Union Street after the man was hit by the vehicle at around 7.50pm.

The street was closed off to traffic between Gordon Street and Argyle Street following the incident near Glasgow Central Station.

The man was taken to hospital and it's believed his injuries are not serious.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 8pm on Wednesday, 23 December, 2020, police received a report of a pedestrian, a man being knocked down by a car in Union Street, Glasgow.

"He was taken to hospital."
