A man was rushed to hospital following a late-night stabbing in Bolton town centre yesterday (May 9).
Emergency services attended Victoria Square at around 11pm on Sunday following reports of 'several men with knives'.
A 39-year-old man was found to have suffered multiple stab wounds and was taken to hospital.
Police officers have now arrested two men following the incident, both remain in custody.
The victim was kept in hospital, but his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
Two men, both aged 21, have been arrested on suspicion of section 18 assault - wounding or grievous bodily harm with intent - as well as on suspicion of the possession of Class A drugs.
Greater Manchester Police has said that enquiries are ongoing as they appeal for witnesses to the incident.
A spokesperson for the force said: "Police have arrested two men after a man suffered stab wounds in Bolton.
"Officers were called to Victoria Square, Bolton town centre, at about 11pm on Sunday 10 May 2021 to reports of several males with knives.
"A 39-year-old man was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
"Two men, both aged 21, remain in custody on suspicion of section 18 assault and possession of Class A drugs.
"Enquiries are ongoing."
