Man rushed to hospital after being stabbed during massive street brawl in Balbriggan, north Dublin

A man in his late 30s was stabbed in the leg during a melee in Balbriggan in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The assault happened in the Drogheda Street area of the north Dublin town at around 3.30am.

Emergency services rushed to the scene of the early morning mass brawl, while the stabbing victim was rushed to Beaumont hospital.

He suffered a large amount of blood loss from a stab wound to his thigh but he is now believed to be in a stable condition in Beaumont hospital.

It's understood that a large group was involved in the public order incident.

No arrests have been made as yet but Garda investigations are ongoing.
