Man rushed to hospital after being seriously assaulted on Scots street

A man was rushed to hospital after being seriously assaulted on a Scots street.

Police were called to reports of the attack on Greenock's Cathcart Street in the early hours of Saturday morning, October 2.

The 27-year-old was taken to the Inverclyde Royal Hospital for treatment, where he was later discharged.

Now officers are appealing for information over the incident.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Enquiries are ongoing into the serious assault on the 27-year-old man in Cathcart Street that took place early morning on Saturday, 2 October.

"He was taken to Inverclyde Royal Hospital and discharged after treatment.

"Any witnesses or anyone with information should contact 101 with reference 0406 of 2 October."
