Man rushed to hospital after being pulled from River Clyde

A MAN has been rushed to hospital after being pulled from the River Clyde. 

Emergency services were called to the Kingston Bridge at around 8.40am this morning following a report of concern for a person. 

The man was rescued from the water. 

He has been taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital by ambulance. 

His condition is not known. 

Police, fire and ambulance were all spotted at the Broomielaw by the River Clyde. 

Lanes one and two of the M8 Kingston Bridge remain partially closed as police carry out enquiries to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident. 

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 8.40am on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, police received a report of a concern for person on the Kingston Bridge in Glasgow.

"Emergency services attended and a man has been rescued from the water.

"He has been taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

"The Kingston Bridge remains partially closed and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the incident."

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We received a call at 8.45am today to attend an incident at Kingston Bridge in Glasgow.

"We dispatched two ambulances, our special operations team, a critical care paramedic and our trauma team to the scene. We transported one male patient to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital."

A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: "We supported emergency service partners at an incident on the Kingston Bridge in Glasgow.

"Operations Control mobilised two appliances and other specialist resources to the area after the alarm was raised at 8.41am on Tuesday, November 14.

"Firefighters rescued a male from the water, and he was passed into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service.

"Crews left the scene at 10.08am."
