Man rushed to hospital after being hit by Luas with Red Line services at a standstill

The Luas Red Line services in Dublin’s City Centre have come to a halt this morning following an accident on Monday night.

According to reports, a man was hit by the tram at around 11:30pm on Monday night and had to be transported to the hospital for treatment.

As a result of the incident, a section of the Red Line near St James's Hospital remains closed this morning.

A Luas spokesperson has said there are no Red Line services between Blackhorse and The Point as a result, however, they are operating a service between Blackhorse and Tallaght/Saggart and all tickets are also valid on Dublin Bus.

Gardaí are carrying out an investigation into the incident.
