The collision happened in Barnton Park in the Barnton area of the city at around 2pm on Tuesday.

Photographs from the scene show the street closed off with a police sign in place and ambulances parked up on the side of the road, reports Edinburgh Live.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: We were called around 2pm on Tuesday, 4 January, to a report of a crash involving a car and a pedestrian on Barnton Park, Edinburgh.
